JEE Main Syllabus 2018 (Subject Wise)

For Paper 1 (For B.Tech): JEE Main Syllabus comprises Subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. It is no hidden fact that in order to score well in exams you will prepare well and that too in all three subjects. Read JEE Main Syllabus details subject wise.

Mathematics Syllabus:

Physics Syllabus:

Sets, Relations and Functions, Mathematical Induction, Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry, Sequences and Series, Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, Matrices and Determinants, Permutations and Combinations, Applications of Binomial Theorem, Integral Calculus, Differential Equation, Limits, Continuity and Differentiability, Vector Algebra, Three Dimensional Geometry, Mathematical Reasoning, Probability and Statistics.

Aptitude Test Syllabus:


Visualising 3D objects from 2D drawings, Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical and Verbal), Analytical Reasoning, Awareness of places, persons, buildings and materials, Texture and objects related to Architecture and building environment, Visualising different sides of 3D objects


Three dimensional – perception: Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, colour texture, building forms and elements, contrast and harmony, subtraction, Elevations and 3 D views of objects,  Drawing and designing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil, Transformation of forms both 2 D and 3 D union, rotation, development of surface & volumes. Sketching of scenes & activities from memory of urbanscapes (public space, festivals, market, street scenes, recreational spaces, monuments, etc.), Generation of Plan, Creating 2D and 3D compositions using given shapes and forms, landscape (gardens, trees, riverfronts, jungles, plants etc.) and rural life.

Candidates who are eager to pursue B.Arch in the two IITs, namely, IIT Kharagpur or  IIT Roorkee have to appear for AAT (Aptitude Awareness Test).

 AAT Syllabus:

Geometrical Drawing: Study of plan (aerial view), elevation (side or front views) of simple solid objects like cones, prisms,  splayed surface holders, cylinders, cubes, etc. Activities in geometrical drawing containing lines, triangles, angles, quadrilaterals, circles, polygons, etc.

Three-dimensional Perception: Perception and appreciation of 3D forms with building elements, and orientation volume and colour, Visualization through constituting objects in memory.

Freehand Drawing: a Simple drawing showing the entire object in its right proportion and form, Ordinary domestic or everyday life utilizable objects like equipment, furniture, relative location, surface texture, and details of its components in suitable scale etc.

Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity: Composition activity with given elements, Logic of colour grouping, Context mapping, Creativity test through uncommon innovative check with recognizable objects

Architectural Awareness: General awareness and interest of famous architectural creations – within the country and outside, celebrities (architects, designers etc.) and places.
